If you are a klutz like me, you more often than not end up wearing your food after dinner. In fact, there are some days that I end up wearing more food than ends up in my mouth. Well, environment activist and fashion designer Katell Gelebart has created a whole new meaning to the phrase, "wearing your dinner." Gelebart opened her first Amsterdam clothing store in 1988, offering ready to wear designs created from used and discarded materials.

Today, Gelebart has created a unique collection of environmentally friendly fashion from none other than food packaging! Each clothing item in the collection is hand constructed from food packaging such pasta boxes, cat food bags, and rice pouching. If given the opportunity, I would absolutely wear Gelebart's short jacket constructed from actual Barilla pasta boxes! The jacket may be made from cardboard, but it looks remarkably like traditional fabric from a distance (top). Her trench coat (bottom) is intricately designed down to the belt buckle at the waist, and created entirely with Friskies cat food bags! Here is a designer that has taken food packaging and fashion to another level.
