Bath and Body Works Candles
A recent order from Bath and Body Works shows that the company goes above and beyond when designing not only their new candle labels and jars, but also their total package! The package arrived in a sturdy cardboard box and each candle had an individual cardboard protector (shown below) around the jar to prevent them from breaking during transport. The construction of the cardboard holders inside the box is extraordinarily inventive with folded corners on the top and bottom of each holder to prevent these fragile candles from be cracked, dented, or damaged. The outer box is easily recognizable because of the high resolution fragrance images printed on the white box along with the Bath and Body Works logo. Another side of the box is printed large and bold in black with the phrase “The World’s Best Fragrances.”
Bath and Body Works Packaging
The four inch circular jars each have various chic and modern designed lids in either a matte gold or a shiny silver. Each of the four jars (shown above) has a square label. The two floral candle labels (Sundress and Watermelon Lemonade) have beautiful patterned backgrounds that are surrounded by a double lined white boarder. A center white panel showcases the candle scent in an elegant script; selective silk screen printing creates a raised effect to the touch for the double boarder and candle name. Two of the more contemporary designs (Espresso Bar and Summer Boardwalk) boldly display their scent name with minimal text and a subtle silver outline. Espresso Bar has clean white lines combined with white embellishments on each side of the label. The bold, contemporary white text but pairs nicely with the subtle brown and grey background image. Summer Boardwalk’s matte label has a background image of a Ferris wheel and bold white lettering. These candles are eye catching to consumers, and ingeniously packaged from the inside out.

Girl Scout Cookie Box redesigned front
Girl Scouting celebrated its 100th anniversary this past March and in honor of the occasion, Girl Scouts of the USA decided to re-brand themselves. They partnered with Anthem Worldwide design firm to help redesign their iconic cookie boxes for an updated look. There are currently eleven different cookie varieties being sold from the traditional “Thin Mints” and “Samoas” to some new favorites like “Thank U Berry Much’s.”
Girl Scout Cookie Box redesigned back
The top two photos are the newly designed cookie boxes while the bottom photo is the old box design. Notice that the new boxes have switched up the graphics of new scouts doing community service or other scouting activities. They have also added short quotations in the upper left corner relating to the graphic such as, “Community gardens help our neighborhood be a fun and healthy place to live for everyone” on the Thin Mints box where the girl is working in a garden. The multiple cookie graphics have been moved from the bottom of the boxes to the center against a colored trefoil shape (the scouting symbol). Also, on the back of each box a cookie graphic with a scouting sash is now the main focus. Included on the sash are a few of the major scouting badges and achievements such as the Gold Award pin (the highest Girl Scout achievement).
